Operations Assistant

This is a part-time, temporary position that runs from hire date through July 15, 2019. The position is responsible for the receipt, management, delivery, and pickup of various supplies, equipment and tools vital to the success of NYC Pride’s WorldPride and Stonewall 50 event.

This is an hourly position.


  • Receive and manage deliveries. Verify inventory counts and condition.
  • Maintain all equipment and supplies in an orderly and organized state.
  • Label and repackage supplies as needed, according to usage and/or event need.
  • Coordinate delivery/load-in and pickup/load-out schedule with Director of Operations and Event Staff.
  • Drive delivery vehicles, including cargo vans and box trucks.
  • Maintain a strict timetable for all deliveries and pickups.
  • Maintain constant contact with Event Staff in case of unexpected delays.
  • Pack and organize event supply bins according to Event Staff instructions.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly storage facility.
  • Handle miscellaneous operational errands and tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma. Extensive relevant experience may also be accepted in lieu of a high school diploma. Bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • Strong time-management abilities and the capability to deliver results on strict timetables.
  • Valid, government-issued driver’s license.
  • Experience in event production, warehouse work, or facilities maintenance.
  • Strong analytical skills, including great attention to detail and the patience to manage and maintain large amounts of equipment and supplies.
  • Proficiency in various productivity platforms, including: Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Dropbox.
  • Excellent communication skills. Position requires frequent contact with other staff members, vendors, and volunteers.
  • Strong personal work ethic and the desire to take pride in assigned work. Position requires handling of equipment and supplies that must be kept in excellent condition.


The work requires heavy physical exertion, including: bending, kneeling, stooping/standing, and lifting/moving heavy objects for long periods of time.

The work takes place in an office setting and at outdoor, off-site locations. The work entails exposure to cold, heat, and varied weather conditions as a result of delivery management and off-site assignments.

Requires frequent daytime/evening/weekend work. Some holiday work may be required.
